Below is general information about SCWQA membership categories for localities and authorities (referred to as “Agencies”) as well as for environmental engineering and consulting firms. For more detailed information, including annual dues and a Membership Application, please click here.

For localities and authorities, there are two membership categories based on treatment capacity:

• Agency Members are public agencies with NPDES permitted treatment capacity of at least 5 MGD in the aggregate.

• Associate Agency Members are public agencies with NPDES permitted treatment capacity of less than 5 MGD in the aggregate.

For environmental engineering/consulting firms, there are two membership categories:

• Consultant Members are environmental consulting/engineering firms with at least one office in South Carolina or which are under contract to an Agency Member.

• Affiliate Members are environmental and/or nonprofit associations or firms who are not eligible for Agency or Consultant membership, and whose main office is in South Carolina. Affiliate Members must be invited to join by the SCWQA Board of Directors.
